GOALS FOR 2006-2007

1. Increase cooperative partnership and participation in planning the NACD Northeast Regional meeting.

• Increase the amount of time available at the annual meeting for additional training, workshops, and other events.

• Develop procedures that outline NACDE needs for the annual meeting.

• Sponsor a Leadership Conference

• Continue to sponsor the "State-of-the-States" report session.

• Sponsor a "Conservation Expo" as part of the regional meeting.

• Sponsor a "sight-seeing" bus tour on Sunday afternoon.

• Continue to sponsor 50/50 fundraising raffle.

• Continue to market "Conservation Products" developed by NACDE.

2. Promote the adoption of an employee handbook in each state.

• Use examples from New Hampshire and New York.

3. Continue to update the NACDE Web page.

• Add an employee bulletin board section for post-a-question section.

• Add sample job descriptions.

• Add job descriptions of board of directors and officers.

• Post training and workshop opportunities going on in each state.

• Post employee association news from each state.

4. Encourage sharing of training opportunities

• Share through web site.

• Share through newsletter.

• Share through e-mail.

5. Encourage more sharing of employee and district newsletters in the region.

• Have each state employee association send a copy of their newsletter to the NACDE Board of Directors and Officers.

• Encourage districts to mail their newsletters to other districts in the region.

6. Maintain an informal networking system for the Northeast.

• Establish a Northeast employee list of e-mail addresses.

• Complete setting up batch fax and e-mail capabilities for quicker communications.

7. Establish a regional conflict resolution team that will assist in defusing employee/supervisor/partnership issues and conflicts when all in-state efforts has failed.

8. Maintain Conservation Partnership efforts through the Northeast Regional Conservation Partnership Leadership Team.

9. Support NCDEA and provide representation from the Northeast Region.

10. Encourage and support state efforts to sign conservation partnership agreements that include District Association, NRCS, the State Conservation Agency (NASCA), the state employees association and RC&D Councils.

11. Continue to write and publish 3 issues for the NACDE newsletter, "The Nor'Easter".

12. Encourage financial sponsorship or the newsletter.
